Kallan Archer is a freelance artist based in South Wales.

Kallan is a regular on the UK convention circuit selling his distinctive artwork, specialising in stark black and white inkwork. He is currently producing work for publishers and trading card companies such as Topps, Upperdeck and Dynamite and has previously contributed officially licensed work to franchises such as Star Wars, The Walking Dead, The X-Files and Stranger Things.

Keith Baker is an award winning game designer who creates diverse games from the Eberron Campaign Setting for Dungeons & Dragons to tabletop card games like Illimat and Gloom. In addition to working with Wizards of the Coast on the recently released The Wayfinders Guide to Eberron for 5e, Keith co-owns his own game design & publishing company, Twogether Studios and created and published three titles in the last year.

Keith is looking forward to returning to Wales, and exploring more castles, coast, and it’s friendly gamers.

Nick Brokenshire is a comic book artist from Aberdeen, Scotland who lives in the North of England. He is a writer/artist for IDW’s STAR WARS ADVENTURES. Nick supplied the art for Dark Horse Comic’s THE ONCE AND FUTURE QUEEN, IDW’s Amelia Cole series as well as stories in 2000AD. He has also drawn covers for IDW’s JUDGE DREDD line and Titan’s ROBOTECH series.

He is currently working on a 200 page graphic novel titled SHE’S NOT THERE with Ellis Bojar. In his spare time he plays guitar and sings in the increasingly popular BLUES HARVEST, who are famous for their genre and movie-centric party tunes.

Mike Collins has been creating comics for over 25 years, starting on Spider-Man and Transformers for Marvel UK, he has worked for Marvel, DC, 2000AD and a whole host of other publishers. In that time he’s written or drawn pretty much all the major characters for each company- Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Flash, Teen Titans, X-Men (where he introduced Gambit to the Marvel Universe), Captain Britain, Judge Dredd, Slaine, Rogue Trooper, Darkstars, Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt and more. He currently draws a series of noir crime fiction graphic novels –Varg Veum- in Norse. He is World Famous in Norway.

In recent years, Mike is perhaps best known for his work with the characters from BBC’s Doctor Who since the TV show’s triumphant return. He has the longest uninterrupted run as artist on the strip in Panini’s Doctor Who Magazine, and pencilled the debut stories of the first three new Doctors. He illustrated two successful BBC original Doctor Who graphic novels, and has drawn for the US IDW Doctor Who comic book series. Mike has also worked as a storyboard artist on the show since 2013 working closely with the directors. Mike has also illustrated a volume of Doctor Who merchandise – some of which has been featured in the Big Bang Theory!

To commemorate 50 years since the moon landing, Mike collaborated with Matt Fitch and Chris Baker to produce a full length graphic novel titled “Apollo” published by Self Made Hero, which has proved so popular it has already gone to a second print!

As well as Doctor Who, Mike has also storyboarded for Sherlock, , Class, Knightfall, Discovery of Witches, Warhammer 40K, Igam Ogam, Claude, Hana’s Helpline and Horrid Henry. As well as the soon to be released TV adaptations of Good Omens, and His Dark Materials.

Outside of comics he has provided graphics and/or storyboards for clients as diverse as the Daily Telegraph, Coca-Cola, Hyundai, Lifebuoy, Virgin Media and Colmans. Also venturing into the music industry, producing a music video for Agnetta and Gary Barlow and illustrating the cover art for Shy FX and T Power’s album “Set It Off”.

Mike is committed to using comics as an educational tool, running workshops in schools and libraries throughout Wales, targeting ‘reluctant learners’ and was heavily involved in the Read A Million Words In Wales initiative.

He’s also the creator of the first ever Welsh language graphic novel Mabinogi, a companion piece for the Cartwyn Cymru animated film of the Celtic myths.

The adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol (script Sean Michael Wilson) for Classical Comics was cited as one of the top ten graphic novels of 2010 by The Sunday Times.

He garnered an improbable amount of publicity for drawing a comic based on the Royal Wedding, which -through an unlikely series of events- led him to cover the actual proceedings as a reporter for Dutch TV. No, really.

The Etherington Brothers have unfortunately had to cancel their appearance at SCGC2019 due to other commitments.

Fear not though, they’ll be back for SCGC 2020!

Joe Glass is a writer and creator of LGBTQ+ superhero team comic series, The Pride. Based in South Wales, Joe has been a reporter and critic within the comics industry as well as a creator, and continues to create exciting new projects to come.

Patrick Goddard has worked extensively for the Galaxy’s Greatest comic. He has drawn Judge Dredd, Sinister Dexter, Grey Area, Aquila, Chopper and many more. He’s most known for his work on Savage with Pat Mills and recently drew the Sniper Elite comic of the video game for Rebellion.

Sarah Graley is a cartoonist from the Midlands, who lives with four cats and her partner, Stef! She is the creator of KIM REAPER (Oni Press) and popular diary webcomic OUR SUPER ADVENTURE (Oni Press). She was the writer and main artist on RICK AND MORTY: LIL’ POOPY SUPERSTAR (Oni Press), an official five-issue mini-series which was nominated for two Diamond Gem Awards in 2016.

She recently illustrated a cover for DOCTOR WHO: THE THIRTEENTH DOCTOR #1 (Titan Comics) and she’s also illustrated several posters for the podcasts MY BROTHER, MY BROTHER AND ME and THE ADVENTURE ZONE.

May 2019 sees the release of her upcoming middle grade graphic novel, GLITCH (Scholastic Graphic). She is also the artist on MINECRAFT: VOLUME ONE (Dark Horse Comics), the first official Minecraft graphic novel, due for release in July. She is currently working on secret comic projects with Stef!

Howard David Ingham has worked as a freelance writer of games and fiction for over 15 years. Howard’s got over 45 credits for White Wolf and Onyx Path (and was a key writer for Vampire: The Requiem, Promethean: The Created and Hunter: The Vigil) and has recently been writing for Green Ronin’s Modern AGE system. Their recent book We Don’t Go Back: A Watcher’s Guide to Folk Horror has been cited in at least three postgraduate theses over the last six months, is in the library of the British Film Institute and has been placed on the preliminary ballot for the 2018 Bram Stoker Awards, which is nice. Howard has been a panellist and exhibitor at every SCGC since the event began in 2016 and is really looking forward to taking part.

JAKe (a.k.a. JAKeDetonator) is a London based artist, illustrator, designer, writer and animation director who has worked for clients worldwide, including a longstanding relationship with Lucasfilm which started in 1998. His works for Lucasfilm’s style guides has been used worldwide on merchandise including Disneyland stores, Hallmark, Adidas, Topps and many more. His artwork was used on the SW 30th Celebration anniversary passes and key merchandise, as well as Star Wars Celebration prints.

He has also worked with The Mighty Boosh, The Prodigy, Comme Des Garçons, The Observer, Esquire, Sony Playstation, Motorola, Foyles Bookshop, Syfy Channel, BBC Doctor Who, Curzon Cinemas, Stussy and Carhartt to name but a few. His books include the acclaimed graphic novel, ‘Hellraisers’ ( SelfMadeHero ), ‘How To Speak Wookiee’ and ‘How to Speak Droid with R2-D2’ ( Chronicle/Lucasfilm ) and ‘The Mammoth Book Of Street Art’ ( Constable Robinson ). He is a comic cover artist on titles such as Doctor Who, Assassin’s Creed and The Corbyn Comic Book.

Over a 20 year career, Malcolm Sheppard has written for numerous games. Notable examples include Vampire: The Masquerade, Mage: The Ascension, Mage:The Awakening, Exalted, Scion, and Blue Rose. Nowadays Malcolm acts as Developer at Large for Green Ronin Publishing, where he develops contemporary-era system Modern AGE, and the comedic Ork! The Roleplaying Game. This year will see the premiere of Threefold, an epic fantasy/SF hybrid setting for Modern AGE. Based northeast of Toronto, Canada, Malcolm spends his free time playing games and fooling with swords.

Rachael Smith is a comic artist and writer. She has created numerous, critically acclaimed comic books including House Party, Artificial Flowers, Wired Up Wrong, and The Rabbit, which was nominated for Best Book in the 2015 British Comic Awards, following her nomination for Emerging Talent the previous year. Rachael has also worked on Titan’s Doctor Who Comic series, and is a regular contributor to Empathize This, a website which gives a platform to marginalised voices through the medium of comics. Rachael lives in Hebden Bridge in the UK with her cat Rufus.

South Wales Video Gaming Podcast are Four gamers with common ground and individual tastes. Often butting heads between PC and console. Between the four of them, the range in gaming history is excessive. These level headed Swansea Bay boys have no intention of posing as anything other than huge fans of gaming, and picking apart the issues within gaming today.

Dylan Teague has been working in comics for over 20 years. He’s done most of his work for 2000Ad and Judge Dredd the Megazine. He’s branched out into the French market, producing graphic novels for Delcourt and Kennes Editions.

Simon Wyatt (swyattart) is a Graphic Novelist, Comic Book Artist and Fantasy Illustrator with over 30 years experience, producing Cd & Album Cover Art, Book Illustration, Portraits, Cartoons and Caricatures (and has also created Concept Art for role-playing games and Iron Maiden’s design studio).

His published book illustrations have appeared in Haunted Maidstone and Cryptozoology In The Movies by Neil Arnold, The Real Men In Black and The Slenderman Mysteries: An Internet Urban Legend Comes to Life by Nick Redfern, Discovery Channel’s Unexplained Files (Episode 5 – The Mothman) and Paranormal Magazine in the UK.

Wyatt is a Stan Lee Award Winning Artist: (POW Entertainment’s Cataclysmic Comic Art Contest) and his Creator owned original Graphic Novel Series- ‘Unbelievable’ is Published by AAM/Markosia Publishing (Extreme Imprint) Wyatt has currently completed illustrating Raggedy Man Tales by GM Jordan.

Ari Shoo Designs is a North Wales based mixed media artist currently studying Costume Construction in Cardiff.
She’s been creating art for 8 years and does not intend to stop any time soon!
Swing by and visit her to see the various fandom related pieces she has to offer, from art prints to tote bags, from mugs to keychains.

The Art of Ceri is an artist from South Wales who has developed their own style in art to create unique pieces of work. Using a mix of mediums to create original pieces as well as fan-art to further develop their own skills and to express their love for each piece they create.

Azeftra Independent collects the arts and stories of Feza, an artist living in South Wales. Feza’s work is very sci-fi and fantasy influenced and is inspired by stories of old from varied cultures.

Feza’s work is mainly hand drawn believing that keeping traditonal is important, though dabbles in digital art when feeling modern. Feza is currently working on a comic series called “Khu: Through the Eyes of an Outsider” which is being released in the Irish Sci-Fi magazine Habworld 2420.

Feza will be selling art prints, comics, and various merchandise such as; bookmarks, keyrings, jewellery, tees, and so on.

Bastards and Broken Things are based in South Wales. It came to life through Kyle’s love of all things wild and his extensive experience with jewellery making. Being a goldsmith for the last ten years, Kyle prides himself on each piece of jewellery he makes, especially when they have a little bit of bite (pun intended). Although he’s been in the trade for years, it always struck him that finding those unique pieces that incorporate nature, the old and the new was difficult, so he decided to do my part to change that.

Bel Artwork is an independent artist from Penarth selling a range of items from prints to greetings cards, badges to stickers. Themes include fanart from games and anime, as well as original art.

BethRose Jewellery are a small two person team who love creating pieces based on their favourite shows, movies and comics.

They’ve got pieces for everyone no matter your style or genre. All pieces are handmade by them, with occasional help from theirfamilies, so because of this they take great pride in working with you to create something truly unique.

Darren Doyle is a newly set up sole trader, trading in Retro games, Film, TV and Animation merchandise, Gaming merchandise and anything in between.

Nine Years ago Deadstar Publishing was launched with the intention of showcasing new talent by publishing books, comics and graphic novels with a focus on horror, science fiction and fantasy.

They wanted to help creators get noticed and started with Rising Stars volume 1 – alumni from which have gone on to make comics their full time career. Their current flagship titles are Dexter’s Half Dozen (nominated in 2014 for a Stan Lee True Believers Award) and their family friendly Dolphin Squad graphic novels.

Film42 comics is a new comic creator, first publishing in 2016. “Myth of the K’inti” is a new series of comic books describing a vast new realm of creation and alternate realities, which reawaken a group of youngsters’ imaginations. It chronicles the journey of Timo and his unusual companions. This is the first comic book collaboration of author Trev Burgess and Illustrator Dom Tsoi from South Wales, UK.

Freaks, Geeks and Autographs is a memorabilia shop based in Swansea. They sell autographs, signed comics and prints, action figures, film props, old vinyl records, books, graphic novels and much more! They’ll be bringing a little bit of their shop to the show.

Gamma Radio is a post-apocalyptic comedy podcast that has been described as Douglas Adams meets Monty Python in a nuclear wasteland.

IdentraCraft Gemma is the artist/owner of her brand ‘IdentraCraft’, where she creates artwork such as detailed hand sewn embroidery hoops featuring all 12 of the zodiac star constellations and is currently working on her latest collection featuring environmental dragon eyes.

Last summer Gemma launched her sub brand ‘Identra Doodles’, which is home to all her own semi realistic animal drawings that can be enjoyed by both children and adults alike. Jenika Ioffreda is the creator of “Vampire Free Style”, self-published and award nominated comic book series about a black cat in a world of vampires, magic and witches.

The series has sold over 5,000 copies in comic conventions around Europe, has been praised by reviewers, has a loyal following and has been requested as set dressing for “This Must Be The Place” movie.

Jenika is an extremely active presence in the European comic conventions circuit with more that 180 appearances over the years. She’s currently self-publishing a new comic book series “Midnight Tea”: the adventures of a 19th century girl who sees ghosts.

Ivy Moon Designs is a local Swansea-based company specialising in all manner of Steampunk, Gothic and cosplay accessories, costume and paraphenalia.

Trevor and Amy search the four corners of the globe to bring new, exciting and interesting goods that will delight and titilate the most discerning of folk.

Rhiannon Kagoe is an international selling traditional illustrator and comic artist from Bristol.

Her latest project is a comic called ‘Spunk’. It’s an original take on the classic haunted house scenario with a modern romance and dark comedic undertones.

Using an online store and a DIY approach, one of her most popular creations is a sticker pack featuring cute yet immoral cats. Her work has been sold to people around the world.

Pontys Upcycles is a Swansea based small business that uses comics to upcycle everyday items.

Nick Prolix is the cartoonist behind the one-person anthology series Nick Prolix’s
Slang Pictorial in which I serialise a slice-of-life comedy drama set in 1960s London.

Science Fiction Collectables are Bridgend’s independent toy and gift retailer. Specialising in entertainment brands, most of their products are unique in the area and they can frequently be found bringing their distinctive range to collector events throughout South Wales and the South West.

Sigglez Squigglez is a one lady mug painting machine who loves nothing more than making people happy with geeky one of a kind mugs.
The Swansea Comics Collective was formed in September 2008 by two blokes in a comic shop. Fed up with talking about creating comics but not putting pencil to paper often enough, Pete and Mark decided to start a group where local artists and writers could meet to collectively pursue this goal.

They now meet regularly and during the meeting a character or theme is chosen and the resulting blog art (Blarts) are posted here. They also run occasional ‘Creating Comic’ workshops and have published several comics. They recently ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund the publication of the next issue of their Copperopolis series.
